^Lot 46 Antique African MAASAI SWORD and Rawhide Sheath

Antique (Late 19th-early 20th Century) African MAASAI SWORD or "Seme" with a Rawhide Sheath. The leaf-shaped Blade measures 11.5" Long x 1.25" Wide, the complete Sword measures 16.75" Long with a Leather wrapped handle. The Rawhide Sheath measures 14.75" Long x 2" Wide. Traditionally, these swords are given to a Maasai man upon reaching warrior status. They are used by the Maasai people of Kenya and Tanzania. COLLECTIBLE AFRICAN ARTIFACTS
